Meet Vilebrequin

If you haven’t been to Vilebrequin at 150 Worth Avenue,  carve out some time to visit this amazing Men’s boutique.

The collections are unique and fun. Perfect for gifts for the men in your life.  Look like you stepped out of a magazine,  the “Father & Son” Collection is our favorite.

We were fortunate enough to chat with  Daniel Jenkins, Store Manager for a few minutes.

Vilebrequin Where's Waldo father & son

Tell us about how your company got started.  How long ago?

First fashioned out a checkered tablecloth from a terrace café, the signature Vilebrequin cut made its debut in 1971 in St. Tropez. Made from a spinnaker textile with a remarkable dry time, the revolutionary new design became an overnight success with jetsetters and celebrities.

Where does the inspiration come from or how do you choose your products you sell?

We currently have two collections per year. A “Cruise” collection in the heart of winter to accompany you on your holiday travels, and a “High Summer” collection to celebrate your vacation wardrobe. For more than 15 years, artistic director Isabel “Zaza” de Brito has designed each of our unique prints. She draws inspiration from her travels and from the beauty of everyday subjects. Each year up to 70 designs are created, and a collection of over 300 pieces emerge from those initial sketches.

What do you love about Palm Beach? Besides the weather- LOL

Palm Beach has always been a beautiful memory from my childhood. Growing up in Palm Beach County, I was always coming to the Island to take advantage of our naturally beautiful surroundings. Our gorgeous beach, and the incomparable Worth avenue have always been my favorite places to enjoy.  I have to pinch myself everyday that I have the privilege of working in our very own paradise.

Tell us your favorite products that you sell and why?

Vilebrequin created the concept of “Like Father, Like Son”.  Many of the swim trunks we offer for men also come in coordinating sizes for boys to match their fathers.  It’s always fun to help families choose their matching sets. We also created a limited edition “Where’s Waldo?” suit to mark his 25th anniversary.  It’s one of my personal favorites, and been one of our top sellers since its release.

Give us 3 Words that describe your company.

Quality, Refinement, and Fun.

For an athletic, straight boy-shaped body, stick to bikinis because they break up the body’s straight line. Ruffles or a ring bandeau add dimension.
